Inpatient Procedure Team - Physician Assistant
About the role
This highly specialized role offers Advanced Practice Providers the opportunity to develop and refine their procedure skills within a collaborative, high-acuity medical environment. Team members perform a wide range of bedside ultrasound-guided procedures, including paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, central venous catheter insertions, and fluid collection drainages. Team members also spend time in the outpatient setting seeing consults for soft tissue masses and performing excisions.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treat patients.
- In consultation with the physician(s) and care team members, develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, such as referrals to other health team members or specialists.
- Provide appropriate treatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practice as designated by protocols and identify problems outside of their scope of practice and refer appropriately to physicians.
Requirements
- Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
- Training: Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant
- Experience: 1+ years as a Physician Assistant, preferably with experience in various procedures and 3+ years in an inpatient/acute care setting, ideally with experience in various procedures.

Schedule
Full-time, 3x13 hour shifts. No overnights or major holidays. Premium differentials offered.
