Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.
Schedule: Part-Time, 24 hours weekly, Monday - Friday (Days), Holiday Rotation
Role Purpose
The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 1, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, assists in dispensing and transporting medications. This entry-level position learns to conduct non-sterile and/or sterile compounding and is responsible for maintaining the required documentation and records.
Responsibilities
- Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
- Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation and dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
- Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
- Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
