About the role
The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care on a pediatric inpatient unit, utilizing principles from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct family-centered nursing care for individuals or groups of patients.
- Deliver comprehensive care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
- Lead clinical duties, participate in quality improvement, and support patient safety initiatives.
- Educate and mentor staff, including precepting new employees.
- Engage in evidence-based practices, system-based practices, and utilize informatics and technology.
- Collaborate with providers to ensure efficient, high-quality care with excellent customer service.
- Adapt to temporary assignments across different hospital areas based on patient needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- BSN required or obtained within 5 years of hire; RN licensure in Ohio.
- Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience working with various organizational levels preferred; healthcare experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical records such as EPIC is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
- The role is onsite, with responsibilities including leadership, patient-centered care, quality improvement, and staff education.
