Responsibilities
- Join the inpatient palliative care consult service, providing patient‑centered care in a supportive environment to patients and families facing serious illness and end‑of‑life challenges.
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including Social Work, Nursing, Spiritual Care Services, Nurse Practitioners and Physicians.
- Assess and manage symptoms of patients with advanced illnesses.
- Recommend appropriate treatment in a consultative model with hospital medicine providers and other disciplines involved in the patient’s care.
- Demonstrate comfort with serious illness communication, holding family meetings, discussing goals of care with patients and families, and developing goal‑concordant plans of care.
Qualifications
- Board‑certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Clinical experience in palliative care or geriatrics settings.
- Commitment to obtaining palliative care certification within two years of hire.
Pay
The position is exempt; the salary range for a 1.0 FTE is $129,780 – $164,400 per year. New hires typically start in the lower part of the range, with actual salary determined by relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.
Schedule
This is a full‑time position with rotational weekend coverage.
