About the role
We are seeking a full-time inpatient social worker to join our oncology team to provide a range of clinical social work services as part of a multidisciplinary team on an oncology unit. The ideal candidate will have oncology and acute care hospital experience working with patients and families, will be proficient in conducting psychosocial assessments, and experienced in crisis intervention, short-term counseling, and interprofessional collaboration.
This role involves working with patients and families presenting with a wide range of mental health and psychosocial concerns, including anxiety and depression, adjustment and coping, loss and bereavement, complex family dynamics, substance use disorder, assessing and addressing child, elder, and disabled maltreatment concerns, and trauma. Excellent clinical, communication, and documentation skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical social work services as part of a multidisciplinary oncology team
- Conduct psychosocial assessments for patients and families
- Perform crisis intervention and short-term counseling
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams
- Address mental health and psychosocial concerns, including anxiety, depression, coping, bereavement, family dynamics, substance use, and trauma
- Assess and address child, elder, and disabled maltreatment concerns
- Maintain excellent clinical, communication, and documentation standards
Requirements
- Master's of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
- For Social Worker I: 0-1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting and LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) state license
- For Social Worker II: 2-3 years of clinical experience in a medical setting and LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker) state license
- Hires with LCSW are required to obtain LICSW licensure within 12 months of eligibility to sit for the LICSW exam

Pay
- Starting rates: LCSW: $68,224, LICSW: $92,227
- Pay range: $58,136.00 - $84,656.00/annual (Grade 6)
- Compensation is based on skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other essential factors
