Inpatient Medicine APP II - Faulkner

About the role

The Advanced Practitioner Provider II at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital is a licensed provider responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate care plans, and ongoing evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
• Takes complete medical histories and performs physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops and implements appropriate treatment plans based on patient outcomes from diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Consistently documents admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as appropriate to the patient population.
• May perform additional duties such as precepting a small group of learners.

Requirements

• A Master's Degree in Physician Assistant or Master's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Two years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider is required.

Qualifications

• A Massachusetts Physician Assistant license is required.
• A Massachusetts Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license is required.

• Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical conditions and interpret findings.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

Pay

$126,837.98 - $173,867.20/Annual

Schedule

40 hours per week, days schedule. Weekend and holiday coverage experience candidates only.
