Inpatient Internal Medicine Unit Coordinator (Charge Nurse)

About the role

Provides leadership and clinical management on a 33-bed medical-surgical unit, overseeing patient care assignments, staffing, throughput, and responding to staff and patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage charge nurse duties, including staffing, assignments, and throughput.
• Supervise patient care and support staff performance, including hiring, education, and evaluations.
• Collaborate with management and HR on performance counseling and discipline.
• Monitor daily standards compliance, clinical practice, and performance improvement activities.
• Ensure productivity targets and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
• Current RN licensure in applicable states with Multi-State licensure or Nurse Compact License.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• PREFERRED: Nursing certification and 2+ years of clinical experience.
