Inpatient Geriatrician

About the role

MaineHealth, the largest health system in Maine, is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Geriatrician to provide inpatient consultative care to hospitalized older adults at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Geriatric consults 5 days per week with a focus on complex care coordination and optimal medical management of hospitalized older adults.
• Work with medical students, residents, and fellows and have opportunities for teaching at the bedside and in formal didactic sessions.
• Collaborate with other specialties and disciplines to promote Age-Friendly Care across the healthcare system, including participating in the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP).

Requirements

• Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics
• Experience in Geriatric Medicine
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Current license to practice medicine in the state of Maine
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine or Pediatrics

Pay

The pay range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The position does not participate in overnight call.
