Inpatient and Outpatient Auditor

About the role

This role will review medical and surgical cases for multi-specialties including cardiothoracic, cardiology, neurosurgery, neurology, vascular, orthopedics, oncology, pulmonary, infectious disease, neonatal, OB/GYN, general medicine and general surgery. Complicated cases and long length of stays are common.

Responsibilities

• Review medical and surgical cases for multi-specialties including cardiothoracic, cardiology, neurosurgery, neurology, vascular, orthopedics, oncology, pulmonary, infectious disease, neonatal, OB/GYN, general medicine and general surgery.
• Provide timely response to messages.
• Have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with writing queries.
• Significant interaction with CDI, HAC/PSI and mortality review.
• Must have either a RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification.
• Experience with Cerner.
• Experience with a CAC.
• Experience with Optum eCAC preferred.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a large acute care setting of at least 700 beds.
• Must be available during regular business hours (8a-5p EST) the first week for training.
• Assignment expected to be long term.

Qualifications

• Must have either a RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification.
• Experience with Cerner is required.
• Experience with a CAC is required.
• Experience with Optum eCAC is preferred.

8 hours a day M-F between the hours of 5am and 9pm EST.
