Innovation Center Operations Manager

Agtegra Cooperative is a local agricultural cooperative headquartered in Aberdeen, SD, owned by over 7,000 farmers and ranchers across North and South Dakota. About the role

The Senior Operations Manager in Aberdeen, SD supports grain operations to achieve optimum efficiency, economies of scale, and maximum profits. This role plans, directs, and coordinates operational and facility activities to ensure policies, goals, and objectives set by the Leadership Team are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operation of the Innovation Center, including the shop, parts counter, personnel, and training center.
• Manage operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities for the facility and precision parts department.
• Plan and schedule workflow for all employees assigned to the facility, collaborating with other managers to share personnel as needed.
• Direct the cleanliness of the facility, equipment, and surrounding grounds.
• Develop relationships with outside vendors and internal/external customers to promote positive benefits for Agtegra.
• Prepare regular reports for management to track strategic goal accomplishment and facility utilization.
• Maintain the inventory management process and implement an equipment maintenance tracking software program.
• Provide excellent customer service and promote operational excellence within the team.
• Participate in company/location-driven communication efforts, including customer events and department meetings.
• Coach and motivate team members through feedback, goal setting, and consistent application of policies.
• Lead team performance management, including setting measurable goals, tracking metrics, and holding employees accountable.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, including OSHA, vehicle policy, fleet safety program, and DOT regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Associate's Degree with 5–10 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Agricultural industry experience and knowledge required.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• English proficiency.
• Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, EPA, and related policies and procedures.
• Understanding of management and supervisory principles, including program planning, budgeting, and evaluation.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships within and outside the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet use.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, talk, hear, and taste or smell.
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
