Inn Overnight Housekeeping Supervisor - Full Time - 3rd Shift
About the role
The Inn Overnight Housekeeping Supervisor position is a full-time role, typically working 10PM - 6:30AM, with occasional third-shift work and holiday/weekend availability required. Benefits include access to Biltmore's on-site health clinic, wellness programs, and discounts on estate amenities.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises Housekeeping line staff on a daily basis.
- Ensures room cleanliness standards; performs room inspections; provides feedback and coaching to associates according to results.
- Manage and oversee clean and orderly hallways, public area and storage areas.
- Maintain employees with the proper supplies needed to perform their duties.
- Aid in the selection, hiring, and training of staff; develop staff as assigned.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of an effective team.
- Provide final check of guest rooms before guest check-ins.
- Follow through and ensure guest requests and satisfaction; address any work orders for repairs.
- Assist with performance management, counseling/disciplinary measures; facilitate staff communications, teamwork; conflict resolution, productivity maintenance, and motivation.
- Strive to maintain personal, staff and guest safety and security at all times.
- Perform duties of Housekeeping Services or Room Attendant as needed.
- Ensure proper weekly inventory of supplies are maintained.
- General assistance and support for the department, company, and leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma (or GED).
- Two (2) years related experience in upscale/luxury hotel or resort or similar environment.
- Preferred candidate will have had previous experience in a four or five star/diamond hotel.
- Solid knowledge of four/five star service and quality standards; experience with inventory control techniques a plus.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivery of world class internal/external guest service; proven leadership skills; ability to build/motivate/develop teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills (written and verbal); conveys information clearly, concisely; proficiency in English; working knowledge of other languages a plus.
- Must be able to handle a variety of guest service situations professionally in a manner consistent with company standards.
- Proactive, takes initiative; creatively problem solves, exercises good judgment; keen attention to details; anticipates and exceeds guest expectations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
- Professional; high ethical standards; reflects company core values.
Physical Requirements
This position will require a physical exam at the Biltmore Clinic prior to starting work. The individual will work in a guest contact environment. The individual will be required to lift, pull, push 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally. The individual may work in a standing position for extended periods of time, and may be required to kneel, reach overhead, bend/stoop as needed. Must be able to operate small commercial cleaning equipment (vacuums, etc.). May be exposed to fumes, particulates, chemicals, and/or fluctuations in temperatures and conditions.
