Inmate Services Program Manager

Manages the planning, coordination, and oversight of all inmate education, vocational training, and rehabilitation programs within the jail to improve inmate outcomes and promote successful reentry.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations of inmate education, vocational, and rehabilitation programming.
  • Develop, schedule, and maintain program offerings in partnership with internal staff and external agencies.
  • Monitor program engagement, attendance, and completion to ensure inmates have access to meaningful services.
  • Evaluate existing programs and recommend improvements, expansions, or new initiatives based on inmate needs and facility goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for instructors, contractors, volunteers, and partner organizations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, program records, and reports in compliance with facility policies and applicable standards.
  • Ensure that programming aligns with jail policies, legal requirements, and best practices for correctional rehabilitation.
  • Address operational challenges and coordinate solutions that support smooth delivery of services.
  • Meet with community leaders as a representative of the Sheriff’s Office to facilitate and strengthen program offerings within the facility.
  • Uphold professional standards, maintain confidentiality, and promote a safe, structured learning environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; three (3) years experience in program coordination, case management, or social services; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, social services, criminal justice, public administration or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse staff, community partners, and service providers.
  • Knowledge of educational, vocational, and rehabilitative programming principles.
  • Ability to analyze needs, identify gaps, and implement improvements within the program.
  • Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and administrative processes.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
