About the role

The Inmate Program Technician – Control Room position staffs the secure control room area of the jail. The Control Room Technician performs control room duties for the Umatilla County Criminal Justice Center under the supervision of Corporals, Shift Sergeants, the Jail Lieutenant, and the Jail Administrator.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the control panel and miscellaneous office equipment, including computers.
• Operate and communicate on police radio.
• Make response decisions under low, medium, and high-stress conditions.
• Maintain organization and self-motivation while working without direct supervision.
• Perform duties in an ADA-exempt work site requiring the ability to walk upstairs and use a 15' ladder.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• LEDS certification (must obtain).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Multi-tasking ability and observant nature.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
