Inline Operator

About the role

Lead and coordinate Inline machine to achieve planned results by ensuring maximum machine output, communicating expectations, maintaining safe working environment, and initiating continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and produce quality product to customer's satisfaction at the Inline
• Set up the Inline to specs according to the work instructions
• Operate an overhead crane and drive a forklift to move product
• Promote good housekeeping, 5S, and safety practices in all activities completed daily
• Perform all tasks assigned to the Inline in a timely manner
• Solve technical issues as you are running product
• Be self‑motivated and able to perform day‑to‑day tasks without guidance
• Operate production equipment
• Apply good knowledge of all safety procedures while operating the Inline
• Complete any assigned instructions from VSL

• Read and comprehend written and verbal instructions

• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
• Ability to work with others, collaborate, and help others around you

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions
• Forklift certification required
• No supervisory responsibilities
• Work environment: regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock; occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, high precarious places, outside weather, extreme cold, extreme heat and vibration; moderate noise level
• Physical demands: regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands/arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, use senses to diagnose/troubleshoot; regularly lift/move up to 15 lb, frequently up to 30 lb, occasionally up to 50 lb; operating manufacturing equipment is a safety‑sensitive function; employees must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
