Ink Technician

Qualifications

• Reviews daily list to determine necessary ink quantities needed for production.
• Obtains ink from inventory and uses dispenser or hand weighs inks to obtain proper quantities.
• Makes custom inks from formulas in database.
• Performs color-matching and toning for new jobs.
• Completes drawdowns.
• Aids press operators in resolving ink related issues on press.
• Maintains and cleans equipment including scales, pumps, etc.
• Replenishes common inks in ink dispensing unit.
• Maintains files and records.
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition in accordance with housekeeping and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Good mathematical aptitude.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Team player, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be punctual, self-directed task completion, have good interpersonal skills and professionalism to interface with all departments.
• Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
• High School education.
• Prior related experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to routinely lift up to 15 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Normal vision and color discrimination ability.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 consecutive hours.
