Ink Technician (12hr nights)

Reports to the Technical Manager of the Printing and Converting Departments.

Responsibilities

  • Blend and tone inks for color match.
  • Monitor ink inventory and communicate with the ink company for stock and control.
  • Assist in troubleshooting ink-related printing issues.
  • Notify management of malfunctioning or damaged equipment.
  • Ensure production and quality standards are met.
  • Organize workflow for smooth operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure product compliance with work orders.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures in compliance with Amcor’s guidelines.
  • Visually inspect the facility for tripping hazards and equipment safeguards; maintain a clean work environment.
  • Maintain ink room and surrounding areas in accordance with plant SQF and GMP practices.
  • Perform duties with minimal direction and be self-motivated.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers through verbal and written communication.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent preferred; any combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Good speaking skills; ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to read and understand a measuring tape.
  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk and listen.
  • Frequent walking throughout the facility to handle ink requirements and occasional contact with co-workers.
  • Manual dexterity with exposure to arm, wrist, and back fatigue.
  • Continuous use of arms, hands, and fingers to handle, grasp, hold, grip, and squeeze.
  • Bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, sitting, carrying, standing in one place, reaching, pushing, and pulling for general duties.
  • Minimum lifting requirement of 50 pounds.
  • Occasional climbing/descending of stairs and pushing a broom to clean the production floor.
  • Frequent walking of the production area to locate materials, check supplies, locate pallets, and assist where needed.
  • Routine stepping up 1.5 feet and pulling oneself into the seat of a forklift.
  • Operation of forklift and lifting equipment is essential.

Work Environment

  • Routinely interrupted by telephone calls and co-workers soliciting information.
  • Moderate to very loud noise levels.
  • Teamwork environment.
