Injury Defense Litigation Attorney (CA Bar required)

About the role

Our customer is a busy, growing Orange County, CA insurance defense firm with a reputation for excellence and a team that genuinely enjoys working together. They're looking for a talented Associate Attorney – Injury Defense Litigation who’s ready to take on interesting, challenging casework with real responsibility from day one—all in a collaborative environment where your voice matters. The ideal candidate would be local and able to work in a hybrid capacity in Santa Ana, CA. The team is open to remote candidates based outside of Orange County or outside of CA. CA Bar is required.

The work is interesting: no cookie‑cutter cases. You’ll handle high‑stakes personal injury, transportation, premises liability, and other complex litigation matters that keep you sharp. You’ll gain hands‑on litigation experience—taking depositions, arguing motions, attending hearings, and going to trial—not just pushing paper behind the scenes. The firm emphasizes collaboration over competition, with approachable partners, teammates who jump in to strategize, and wins celebrated as a team. There’s room to grow whether you want to sharpen trial skills, take on bigger cases, or develop client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload with partner support
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
• Take and defend depositions
• Appear in court for hearings and motions
• Work directly with clients to strategize and move cases forward

Requirements

• 3–10+ years of civil litigation experience
• Trial experience strongly desired
• California Bar required
• Insurance defense background
• Workload billable requirement: 1,850 hours annually (~155/month)
