Injection Mold Set-Up Technician

Dynomax is a family-owned company established in 1986 that designs, manufactures, and develops high-precision machined components, injection molding and tooling, sub-assemblies, automated work cells, specialty machines, and machine tool spindles.

Job Responsibilities

• Read specifications sheets to determine machine set-up and prescribed settings
• Verify correct set-up of molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before machine start-up
• Position, align, and secure assembled molds or mold components, and machine accessories, onto the machine using hoists, power tools, and hand tools
• Adjust machine controls to regulate specified machine pressure and plastic curing time, and other parameters per set-up sheet
• Coordinate flow of plastic and coolant to molds
• Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimensional defects using a microscope, micrometer, and other gauges
• Set-up and adjust automatic compression, injection, or transfer machines used to mold plastic materials according to specified shapes, following drawings, and utilizing knowledge of machine functions
• Obtain mold approval for first article molds
• Aid with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls

Job Requirements

• Working knowledge of automation systems and equipment
• Injection molding set-up experience
