Essential Position Responsibilities
- Weighs, bags, labels and tapes/seals all bags leaving the Ingredient Room as well as weighs all the ingredients for the marinators.
- Pulls specification sheets from the QA department to know what ingredients will be needed for that day’s orders.
- Keeps the room neat, clean and sanitary for USDA inspections daily.
- Keeps all ingredients on pallets and covers in plastic wrap and washes any barrels before bringing them into the Ingredient Room.
- Keeps records on all incoming and outgoing ingredients, lot numbers and which lines used those ingredients and keeps track of any discarded ingredients.
- Participates as a member of the Team.
- Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
- Attends appropriate team meetings.
- As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
- Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Simmons Operating Systems Principles and Objectives
- Familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies).
- Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Physical Activities
- Lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, moving bags and standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, sitting and working on feet for 8-12 hour shifts.
- Works in a cool, wet, noisy, dusty, slippery environment.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- (STD) waterproof gloves, sleeves, waterproof slip resistant footwear and ear plugs

Technical Experience
Making manufacturing experience preferred.
Industry Experience
Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
