Ingredient Receiving Feedmill SS (Day Shift)

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Performs millwright tasks and projects, as well as heavy maintenance projects.
• Ensures all schedules are met to eliminate risk of demurrage penalties.
• Takes bin measurements daily or as needed.
• Pulls samples and tests them.
• Sweeps and cleans the work area as needed.
• Performs regular housekeeping tasks to minimize dust accumulation as needed throughout the shift.
• Participates as a member of the Team.
• Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
• Attends appropriate team meetings.
• Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

• Familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies).
• Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in temperature extremes, wet and noisy environments.
• Must be able to work on feet for the entire shift.
• Must be able to climb ladders and bend as needed.

Industry Experience

• Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
• Experience in trucking or transportation relevant to poultry organization for 6 months to one year.

Minimum Education

Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

Preferred Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Computer Training

Preferred.
