About the Role

Through the Ingredient Control Manager and Supervisor, this position oversees all Ingredient Control pre-weigh processes during their shift. This role is responsible for leading kit assembly for the production plant, including pre-weigh ingredients, tracking inventory, and following detailed instructions. Additionally, this position acts as the liaison between the company and customer.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the company and customer while maintaining confidentiality agreements.
  • Monitor activities in the area of responsibility at all times during the shift.
  • Train, lead, and communicate effectively with all co-workers.
  • Work to minimize changeover time.
  • Ensure every detail and specification of each product is met.
  • Ensure co-workers follow recipes and directions precisely.
  • Oversee kitting, preparation for kitting, movement to storage, and all associated record keeping.
  • Ensure FEFO (First Expired First Out) is followed for all ingredient consumption.
  • Evaluate and suggest continuous improvement for processes in the area of responsibility.
  • Learn and apply new processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and operates at peak efficiency.
  • Pre-weigh ingredients following customer-specific recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas.
  • Assist in conducting physical counts on customer-owned inventories.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality production and food safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret formulas and procedures in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records with math and science skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or other inventory management systems.
  • Experience with GMP and/or HACCP regulations.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a production environment.
  • Forklift certification.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Employees will experience varying physical demands, including:

  • Standing for extended periods and walking on occasionally slippery floors.
  • Handling equipment or materials.
  • Temperature fluctuations based on outside weather conditions (heat and cold).
  • Loud work environment requiring hearing protection (ear plugs).
  • Mandatory use of hairnets and no jewelry on the production floor.
  • Exposure to alcohol as an ingredient in products.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds frequently.
  • Extended standing on hard surfaces.
  • Vision requirements: distance, close, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Frequently required to stand, talk, hear, use hands to finger, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Occasionally exposed to elevated platforms, confined spaces, fumes or airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and high-pressure steam.
  • Frequently exposed to working near mechanical parts and vibration.

Schedule

  • Full-time, night shift: 12-hour shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM).
  • 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month).

Pay

  • $23.00 - $24.50 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Additional $2.00 night shift differential, if applicable.
  • $750 night shift bonus.
  • Monthly performance-based bonuses.
