Position Details
High Speed SERDES PHY Firmware Design Engineer
This role involves contributing to all phases of high-speed SERDES firmware development, including architecture development, feature implementation, verification, testing, and customer deployment. Collaboration with the verification team is essential for debugging and fixing firmware issues, and interaction with product engineering, system validation, and design teams is required for addressing field issues and providing hot fixes.
- Contribute to firmware architecture development and implementation of defined features.
- Work closely with the verification team to debug and fix firmware issues found during simulation tests.
- Involvement in post-silicon testing and validation to identify and resolve firmware and hardware-related functionality and performance issues.
- Collaborate with product engineering, system validation, and design teams to debug IP issues in the field and provide hot fixes.
- Help build system-level prototype control software to develop and validate adaptation, equalization, and control algorithms for high-speed SERDES.
- Implement assigned firmware features and ensure their functionality and robustness through close collaboration with the verification and validation teams.
- Support the validation team during electrical and system characterization.
- Support the product engineering team during customer deployment of the IP.
Profile Required
- Solid programming knowledge in C/C++ and Python.
- Broad understanding of wireline communication principles.
- Knowledge in mixed signal circuit design and digital signal processing techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Compensation
The annual salary range for Canada is $73,500.00 CAD/year - $136,500.00 CAD/year. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits.
