Infusion Technician - Meridian
Job Summary
The pharmacy technician assists with the compounding of sterile preparations in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures, assembly of patient supplies and equipment, and other tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The pharmacy technician assists with the maintenance and cleaning of the pharmacy work areas as described in the policies and procedures and the task management system, Manual and assists with quality control and performance improvement (PI) activities as directed by the franchise location manager. If applicable, the pharmacy technician may handle hazardous drugs in accordance with USP and organizational safety policies. This position reports to the pharmacy manager.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform infusion related sterile compounding procedures in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate proper aseptic technique, hand hygiene, and garbing practices consistently.
- Maintain accurate documentation of compounding logs, supply assembly, and cleaning records.
- Support infection prevention practices and report deviations or potential contamination risks.
- Safely handle hazardous drugs in compliance with USP requirements (if applicable).
Required Skills/Abilities
- Good interactive skills with employees, supervisors, referral sources, and consumers.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Registered with State Board of Pharmacy (if applicable in state(s) of service area).
Preferred
- National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT).
- Completion of pharmacy technician training preferred.
- Experience in laboratory or health care setting.
- Knowledge of USP / standards and prior experience in sterile compounding.
