Clinical Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Obtain and document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and vital signs.
- Auxiliary physicians and licensed healthcare providers during examinations and treatments.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by physicians and permitted by state law.
- Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and other approved clinical procedures.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and examination rooms.
Medication Receipt, Storage, and Inventory Management
- Receive, verify, and document medication shipments.
- Inspect deliveries for accuracy, damage, temperature compliance, lot numbers, and expiration dates.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform reconciliations.
- Manage medication inventory levels and replenishment.
- Ensure proper storage and temperature monitoring of medications.
- Maintain chain-of-custody documentation for white-bag medications.
- Support audits, inspections, accreditation reviews, and quality assurance activities.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Maintain EMR documentation and HIPAA compliance.
- Order office and clinical supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of CMA experience.
- Specialty practice, infusion, or pharmacy experience.
- Experience with medication inventory management and audits.
