About the role
At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy, our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit of every person in a more comfortable, less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities
- Administers intravenous (IV) therapies and medications, ensuring safe and effective patient care delivery.
- Evaluates and manages infusion devices, prepares and administers medications, educates patients, and monitors for complications.
- Performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassesses as per policy, including adult and geriatric patients and the general patient population.
- Absorbs and reassesses pain and pain management techniques utilized, educating patients and families regarding pain management.
- Maintains medical equipment, such as cleaning/disinfecting equipment, stretchers, etc., after use.
- Answers telephone calls professionally, referring patient problems to office/clinic physicians, and schedules patient appointments.
- Maintains accurate and continuous nursing documentation, including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses, and assessment of changes.
Requirements
- Graduate of an RN nursing program.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license, upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR certification, upon hire.
- Cancer Chemotherapy Provider certification, within 6 months, or
- Oncology Certified Nurse certification, within 6 months.

Pay and Recognition
The posted compensation range of $30.39 - $44.06 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Schedule
This position is scheduled to work 80 hours per pay period, Monday through Friday, as a Day shift.
