Infusion Registered Nurse

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy at the clinic located in Overland Park, KS.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Place Peripheral Lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) for new patients and teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications; document in the medical record
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, communicating findings to physicians and/or patients as needed
• E-prescribe prescriptions at the doctor’s order and communicate with pharmacies
• Receive and return patient and other telephone calls
• Review EMR charts for next-day appointments, order lab results, consult reports, or notes as necessary, and ensure all required fields are completed for meaningful use eligibility
• Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office, and schedule patient visits as needed
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs and establish priorities
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the facility
• Support professional practice by adhering to:
  • Standards of Nursing Practice
  • JCAHO, state, and local laws
  • MIDC policy
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Kansas RN license
• At least two years of RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
• Infusion experience
• Chemo experience preferred but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19)

Pay

$90,000–$100,000 annually ($35/hour + monthly bonus)
