Infusion Registered Nurse

Duties

• Insert Peripheral lines
• Teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications
• Maintain excellent IV skills and document in Medical Record
• Familiarize with PICC lines and proficient in PICC dressing changes
• Review and chart daily laboratory results
• E-prescribe new prescriptions and refills at doctor's order
• Communicate with pharmacies regarding prescriptions
• Respond to telephone calls, meet patients on weekends, schedule patients to come to the office as needed
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
• Assist and consult with the physician in the ordering of procedures and diagnostic tests
• Order laboratory tests for patients per provider's order or standing order
• Follow up on abnormal labs and medication refills as instructed
• Maintain patient records, billing documentation, and all other administrative records in the EHR
• Administer immunizations, TB screening, medications, and blood draws consistent with current guidelines and established protocols
• Support professional practice by observing standards of nursing practice, JCAHO, state and local laws, and MIDC policy

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Valid IL RN state license
• At least (2) two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
• Infusion experience, Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients

Pay

$90,000-$95,000/year ($30/hour + monthly bonus)

4 days (32 hours)/week
