Infusion Registered Nurse

About the role

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy at the clinic located in Overland Park, KS. This position offers work/life balance in a casual environment within a large practice experiencing continued growth.

Responsibilities

• Place Peripheral Lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) for new patients and teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications; document in the Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, communicating information to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• E-prescribe prescriptions at the doctor’s order and communicate with pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other telephone calls.
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments, ordering lab results, consult reports, or notes as necessary, and ensure all required fields are documented for meaningful use eligibility.
• Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office, and schedule patients as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs, establishing priorities.
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with the facility.
• Support professional practice by adhering to:
  • Standards of Nursing Practice;
  • JCAHO, state, and local laws;
  • MIDC policy.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current KS RN license.
• At least two years of RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience is preferred but not required.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19 (requests for accommodations/exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, consistent with applicable laws).

Pay

$90,000–$100,000 annually ($35/hour + monthly bonus).

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
