Infusion Pharmacist

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. The Infusion Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and verifying infusion medication orders for accuracy and clinical appropriateness, compounding sterile preparations in accordance with USP standards, and ensuring safe handling and storage of medications. The role involves collaborating closely with prescribers, nurses, and other clinical team members to optimize therapy plans, manage dosing, and monitor patient responses.

• Perform clinical assessments and maintain accurate, compliant documentation.
• Oversee pharmacy technicians and support quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities.
• Provide patient and caregiver education on medications, administration techniques, and safety.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of pharmacy operations and patient care processes.

Qualifications

• Clinical pharmacy expertise in infusion therapies, including assessment of complex regimens, drug interactions, and dosing adjustments.
• Strong knowledge of sterile compounding practices, aseptic technique, and relevant standards (e.g., USP <797>, USP <800>).
• Proficiency in medication order review, verification, and documentation within electronic health records and pharmacy systems.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with physicians, nurses, patients, and caregivers in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Detail-oriented approach to quality assurance, regulatory compliance, inventory control, and safety protocols.
• Ability to provide clear patient and caregiver education about infusion medications, administration procedures, and adverse effect monitoring.
• Valid Pharmacist license in the state of Oklahoma; PharmD or equivalent degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
• Previous experience in infusion, home infusion, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings preferred.
• Comfort working in an on-site clinical environment and adapting to changing patient needs and workloads.
