Infusion Nurse

About the role

This full-time Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position supports the Infusion Department at our Frisco location. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
• Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
• Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision.
• Administer all medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
• Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration.
• Facilitate dose modification by assessing patients, reviewing labs, consulting protocols, calculating doses, and collaborating with physicians on symptom management.
• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
• Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
• Active RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements.

Qualifications

• Level I (Entry): 0-3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Level II: Minimum three years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Level Senior: Minimum five years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology; oncology certification preferred.

Working Conditions

• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.

Physical Requirements

• Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Pay

Select roles may be eligible to participate in the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP), an incentive program that vests over a three-year period and is tied to individual performance and operational success. Awards are discretionary, based on position, performance, and potential for future growth, and are reviewed annually during compensation reviews. Continued employment through the award payment date is required.
