Infusion Financial Representative
About the role
Under the direction of the assigned Site Supervisor or Manager, the Infusion Financial Representative performs activities to ensure timely and accurate posting, authorizations for treatment and abstracting or patients charges, and data entry functions related to front-end failures.
Responsibilities
- Performs charge posting and abstracting tasks
- Works knowledgeably with the authorization process and insurance companies, preferably in a hospital outpatient environment
- Requires a working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Requires knowledge of ICD-9CM and CPT-4 coding
- Accurately calculates figures such as discounts, interest, and percentages
- Uses advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Requires data entry skills
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- AAS in Business or Health Care related field
- Two (2) years of charge posting and abstracting experience
- Working knowledge of the authorization process
- Experience in a hospital outpatient environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Knowledge of ICD-9CM and CPT-4 coding
- Ability to calculate figures accurately
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
