Infrastructure Project Manager
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Manage assigned infrastructure projects from initiation through closeout.
- Take ownership of active projects already in progress and ensure continuity of execution.
- Collaborate with senior leaders and team members to develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, RAID logs, action items, and status reports.
- Lead project meetings, working sessions, implementation planning, and status reviews, documenting and sharing minutes or outcomes of sessions.
- Cook up engineers, architects, vendors, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
- Coordinate risk management, issue resolution, assumption analysis, dependency management, and change request tracking.
- Support infrastructure cutovers, migrations, refreshes, deployments, and modernization activities.
- Track deliverables, owners, due dates, and completion status to ensure project commitments are met.
- Escalate blockers and drive timely resolution with project teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation, governance artifacts, implementation plans, and closeout materials.
- Facilitate decision-making and ensure technical and business stakeholders remain aligned.
- Prepare executive-ready status reporting, meeting notes, stakeholder updates, and project communications.
MUST HAVE Specific Knowledge And Skills
- A strong understanding of enterprise network infrastructure concepts including infrastructure lifecycle management, hardware refreshes, and end-of-life remediation.
- Experience supporting voice and telephony projects.
- Familiarity with data center operations, disaster recovery, business continuity, cloud services, automated deployments, compute, and storage technologies.
- The ability to understand technical concepts without performing hands-on engineering work.
- The ability to manage dependencies, facilitate decisions, challenge assumptions, and maintain credibility with engineers, architects, vendors, and leadership stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation, meeting leadership, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to translate technical discussions into business-friendly updates.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar project management tools.
Additional Skills and Other Requirements
- Proven experience managing enterprise infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams and technical dependencies within the same or multiple projects.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams and third-party vendors while working in large, complex enterprise environments.
- Experience managing RAID logs, project schedules, status reporting, implementation plans, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience taking over projects already in flight and quickly establishing ownership.
Pay
$50-$55/HR (depends on experience level).
Schedule
This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/week.
