Infrastructure & Ops Engineer II

About the role
Responsible for building, managing, monitoring, and operating DLA Piper’s infrastructure systems and environments. These environments support the Firm’s applications and are key to the Firm’s security, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
Location
This position can sit in any of our U.S. offices and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Builds, manages, monitors, secures, and operates the firm’s infrastructure systems and environments.
- Ensures that the systems for the firm, including global integration points and Cloud systems, are available and functioning properly at all times.
- Performs hands-on configuration.
- Creates and maintains system documentation.
- Participates and/or leads disaster recovery planning, implementation, testing, and validation.
- Participates in vendor relationships.
- Performs daily monitoring and support of the Firm’s systems, applications, and ensures availability and stability of systems.
- Participates in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Performs daily monitoring and required maintenance to keep systems highly available, highly stable, and always performing optimally.
- Proactively identifies needs for improvements, capacity changes, and upgrades.
- Plans and implements upgrades and patches to stay on current versions.
- Resolves escalated cases from other Engineers and Helpdesk. Performs fault resolution and root-cause diagnosis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED (Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred).
- 5+ years of experience with Active Directory, computer storage, and networking.
Skills
- Excellent scripting skills.
- Detailed technical knowledge of infrastructure products with experience in security configuration.
- Experience must include understanding performance, security, and application requirements and ability to design appropriate solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure Active Directory, DNS, WINS, DHCP, network topologies, along with expert knowledge in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Unified Communications and Collaboration technologies.
- Senior technical skills to provide interpretation and communication/negotiation between technical resources.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to work with staff of all levels on a daily basis.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work: occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The role involves sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing, and occasional travel, both domestic and international.
Work Environment
Hybrid work arrangement combining remote and in-office work. The specific arrangement will be determined at the time of hiring and may be modified at the firm's discretion.
Pay
The firm's expected hiring range for this position is $100,787 - $160,255, depending on the candidate's geographic location, experience, skills, educational background, and overall qualifications.
