Infrastructure Network Technician

Responsibilities

• Support desktop systems as well as OT/IOT equipment in both networked and standalone environments, responding, documenting, and closing tickets as submitted.
• Provide secure, consistent, and highly available network infrastructures and virtual services to meet IT needs.
• Support network and virtual services development, design, implementation, testing, trouble resolution, network monitoring tools, and maintenance contracts.
• Provide evaluation and design inputs to team for customer networks.
• Update IT records systems to ensure accurate tracking and documentation.
• Review specific incoming IT Service Desk requests and resolve customer requirement issues.
• Cook up coordination with advanced Network Operations teams as needed to support port activation and connection of device to ports.
• Allocate subnets for customer environments.
• Aid in setup of customer firewall rules.

Qualifications

• AS degree in relevant discipline plus minimum 2 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
• Must be US Citizen.

Required Skills

• Expertise with enterprise-level networking infrastructure.
• Clear understanding of the TCP/IP and OSI models.
• Familiar with common enterprise network cabling standards (copper, fiber).
• Ability to respond to customer tickets in support of system and network outages.
• Advanced knowledge of network troubleshooting of escalated issues with intermediate and endpoint systems.
• Experience with installation, management, and monitoring enterprise network switches, routers.
• Ability to create, navigate within, and update the network configurations and routes.
• Experience using network management tools/systems: WAN, LAN Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, or equivalent Optical networks.
• Experience with ServiceNow and Jira system environments.
• Experience with IoT/OT/ICS devices and interconnectivity.
• Experience with network design and mapping DNS.
• Experience with PowerShell. Scripting (Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Experience with Panorama GPON Firewall applications.
• Experience with Out-of-Band Wireless (Aruba).
• Experience with Brocade (or equivalent).
• Experience with Secure CRT TACACS AKiPs EM F5 Linux/Windows Server interfacing.
• Experience with Data storage interfacing.
• Knowledge of ITSM framework.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Desired Skills

• Experience with cybersecurity tools (Splunk, Nozomi, etc.). interfacing.
