About the role
The Client Engineering team is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to help radically change how we service and support Client devices across the Enterprise and Agency environments. The successful candidate will have a broad scope of responsibilities, including setting direction and proof-of-concept for new technologies across the entire suite of Client technologies: Workstation Hardware, Workstation OS, Software Deployment, Mac Hardware/OS, Intune, JAMF, and Virtual Desktop/Shared Desktop solutions.
Responsibilities
- Drive the enablement and maturity of Zero Touch deployments (Intune) across all End User devices
- Drive the enablement and maturity of Cloud-based VDI environments
- Improve delivery of client hardware to consumers
- Enhance the Mac ecosystem
- Partner and collaborate with architects, managers, and product teams toward shared outcomes
- Serve as a trusted advisor on technology and engineering best practices across leadership and key product initiatives, identifying horizontal connections and implications
- Demonstrate learning agility by continuously exploring new platforms, technologies, tools, languages, and frameworks to solve problems and uncover opportunities
- Surface significant engineering-related decisions, risks, issues, and problems, applying engineering disciplines to drive resolution
- Stay on top of industry trends in digital solutions and manage a backlog of spikes/POCs for learning and exploring new opportunities
- Spread key technical innovations through mentoring, coaching, and minimalist enablement to promote successful adoption
- Provide coaching and mentoring, encouraging community across engineers while aligning priorities and collaboration
- Role-model engagement and mentoring in the broader State Farm engineering community
Qualifications
- Microsoft Azure services with a focus on Intune
- Munki/Autopkg
- JAMF – Apple Device Management
- ServiceNow Flow Designer
- Microsoft and Mac Operating System support experience
- Terraform
- Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or Windows 365 (W365) experience
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to various audiences
- Bias towards action
Pay
Compensation is based on a standard 38:45-hour work week. Potential starting salary range: $124,000 – $185,000, with the high end reserved for applicants with significant relevant experience. Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary.
