Infrastructure Electrical Engineer
About the role
As the Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the integration of facility electrical equipment for our nuclear fusion demonstration system. You will work across several teams to develop the facility electrical equipment which enables us to achieve net facility gain. During construction you will work with design consulting engineering and contractors to ensure a quality installation which can be safely maintained. Following construction, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and future upgrades of the facility electrical equipment. This position is based in Albuquerque, NM and will require up to 50% travel to our San Leandro, CA facility during the design and permitting process.

What You'll Do
- Develop facility electrical equipment requirements and guidelines for building systems including electrical infrastructure, building electrical systems, backup power, and energy management systems.
- Aid in the design and development of building electrical systems.
- Interface with engineers, scientists, and technicians to obtain facility electrical inputs.
- Work with the Infrastructure Design Team to ensure building electrical systems are documented and designed appropriately for permitting, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
- Develop electrical equipment commissioning, maintenance, and operations plans.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and future upgrades of building electrical systems.
What You Bring
- Minimum BS, Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 7+ years of experience working in design, construction, facility operations, and commissioning for industrial, manufacturing, or research facilities
- Experience with medium and low voltage AC systems and high voltage DC systems
- Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E
- Hands-on experience with industrial, manufacturing, or research facility commissioning and operations
- Strong multidisciplinary program management skills and ability to work diligently across cross-functional teams
- Proactive, doer, with a self-starter mindset

- Track record of reliability and ability to drive results

Pay Range
$116,000 - $174,000 USD
