About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is expanding its infrastructure management team and seeking a proven technology manager with experience in people management, technical expertise, and vision to advance AWS Data Center Operations. The Infrastructure Delivery Manager will create sustainable processes and standards, drive automation to reduce delivery cycle times, and improve quality without impacting network availability. The team's mission is to deliver network capacity on time with zero rework.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The team supports AWS data centers and ensures continual access to innovation for customers. This role collaborates with diverse teams, including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts, to maintain high standards for safety, security, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators, including project management, coaching, and documentation.
  • Manage inbound capacity from receiving through deployment stages.
  • Oversee the installation of network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment.
  • Guide, train, and educate staff on best practices related to service owner issues.
  • Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects.
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and required SLAs.
  • Provide weekly reports to the data center manager.
  • Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, including emergency projects, change management, maintenance windows, and potential off-hours/on-call support.
  • Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Host weekly staff meetings.
  • Drive compliance with Amazon performance management requirements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of TCP/IP networking, network cabling, fiber, optic types, and test equipment experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a management or team lead function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or equivalent.
  • Experience installing physical data center equipment such as copper/fiber cabling and racks.

Pay

USA, GA, Hampton - $78,400.00 - $137,300.00 USD annually.
