Infrastructure & Capital Projects – Construction Design Manager – K-12, ANS

About the role

You’ll manage, develop, and coordinate the district’s design process for A&E Services to ensure that plans meet functional program, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements. You’ll oversee multiple projects—including engineering repair and critical repair—through collaboration with architects, consultants, and district personnel to ensure timely completion.

You’ll lead the building design process to ensure compliance with LAUSD’s standards and guidelines, working with design professionals and district administrators to ensure new and modernized structures meet educational and building standards. You’ll establish and follow a process to select the architectural firm best suited for each project based on qualifications and performance standards.

You’ll provide architects with clear direction regarding goals, objectives, standards, site, schedule, and budget for each project. You’ll implement an effective design review process to ensure designs meet overall project goals and deliver maximum value within budget. You’ll review design changes to keep projects on budget and monitor planning and design status to report findings, recommendations, and updates.

The work location for this role is onsite at client sites to enable delivery and cultivate client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Establish and follow a process to identify and select the architectural firm best suited for each project based on qualifications and performance standards.
• Provide architects with clear and consistent direction regarding goals, objectives, standards, site, schedule, and budget for each project.
• Implement an effective and efficient design review process to ensure designs meet overall project goals and objectives.
• Ensure projects deliver maximum value for budgeted dollars and meet the functional needs of the district, community, and environment.
• Review design changes to ensure projects remain within budget.
• Monitor project planning and design status to report findings, recommendations, and updates.

Requirements

• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of full-time paid professional experience managing facilities design or the planning and coordination of capital projects, including design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling.
• 4 years of this experience must be with the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.

Qualifications

Bonus Points If You Have:

• A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.

Pay

$166,000 - $183,000 a year. Compensation at Accenture varies depending on factors such as office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The provided range applies to roles hired in Illinois, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, or Washington as required by local law.
