Infrastructure Administration Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create, code, and support solutions to automate database infrastructure creation, management, or decommissioning.
• Provide easily consumable services to software development teams to assist in consuming infrastructure solutions and collaborate to implement them.
• Accelerate application development by building patterns of infrastructure services that are self-service, resilient, reliable, and aligned with Prudential standards.
• Collaborate with product owners to understand needs and define feature stories, work with tech leads to define technical designs, and ensure robust solutions that drive business impact.
• Automate unit and integration test cases, solve problems, and add new value through automation.
• Develop corporate platform standards based on cost, capability, and capacity requirements to drive business value; document solutions for adoption.
• Apply infrastructure fundamentals to database platforms and Linux/Unix/AIX operating systems using programming languages like Python, Shell/Power scripting, Ansible, CloudFormation, and Terraform.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes necessary for making sound decisions within the company's context.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Applied experience and expertise with infrastructure fundamentals, including operating systems, databases, networks, and cloud services.
• Understanding of security best practices and the ability to develop secure solutions.
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies.
• Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience with infrastructure administration, including Linux/UNIX, database management, network configuration, and cloud services.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Shell/Power scripting, Ansible, CloudFormation, and Terraform.

Pay

$76,000.00 to $125,400.00 annually.

Schedule

Onsite 5 days a week, with occasional nights/weekends (scheduled work).
