Information Technology - Quality Assurance Analyst I

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and test new or modified software programs and software development procedures
• Afford assistance in the development of reusable, well-thought-out testing scripts
• Perform code review
• Provide assessment and recommendations with testing environments, change management procedures, and testing tools
• Analyze quality assurance metrics and track defects, defect counts, and test results
• Create manual test cases based on business requirements and test cases
• Create automated test cases in automated testing tools
• Understand and translate valid customer's business requirements and needs into test cases with expected results
• Participate in weekly meetings and maintain daily or as needed communication with users and systems programmers to compile comprehensive valid requirements and work through issues
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent years of experience
• Minimum four (4) years relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar position in the IT field
• Knowledge and hands-on experience in testing web-based applications using testing tools such as SmartBear, Mercury, open source testing tools, and Rational Robot
• Knowledge of software QA methodologies, QA Processes, test data management, and software development life cycle
• CSTE (Certificate Software Testing Engineer) certification preferred
• Thorough understanding of the healthcare industry (health insurance, employee benefits, medical claims processing, or member eligibility)
• Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment, meet tight deadlines, and handle several projects simultaneously
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide solutions
