About the role
Initiates, plans, executes, monitors and controls, and closes projects according to project requirements and timeline, keeping the project within scope and budget. Assists with scoping and requirement gathering, creates and executes project schedules, and oversees quality control throughout the project. Works with other business units and stakeholders to obtain appropriate resources, manages a team and third-party contractors or consultants, and assesses project issues and risks to ensure successful project completion.
Responsibilities
- Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; and implementing change.
- Works with customers to identify and coordinate new system developments and/or enhancements.
- Develops project scope of work documents and project plans that include an analysis of benefit, cost, work schedule, and related risks.
- Assigns, schedules, reviews, monitors, and controls project work to ensure progress is within expected guidelines and completed on time and within budget.
- Mentors and provides expertise to other project team members.
- Identifies roles of management, departments, project team members, project reporting structures, frequency of interaction, and any training requirements needed for team members to complete a project.
- Develops project management artifacts, such as RACIs and Project Plans/Task Lists.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED and six (6) years of experience in a project management role.
- OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferably in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field) and four (4) years of experience in a project management role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience in a healthcare/patient care environment.
- Project Management Certification (PMP).
