Information Technology (IT) Security Specialist

About the role

You’ll help protect the cooperative’s information assets, systems, and technology infrastructure from evolving cybersecurity threats. The position supports day-to-day security efforts by monitoring, investigating, and responding to security events, maintaining secure system configurations, and assisting with vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Help protect the cooperative’s information assets, systems, and technology infrastructure from evolving cybersecurity threats
• Support day-to-day security efforts by monitoring, investigating, and responding to security events
• Maintain secure system configurations
• Assist with vulnerability management
• Work closely with the IT team and leadership to strengthen CCEC’s security posture
• Help promote a cooperative-wide culture of information security

Requirements

• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field, plus one year of related work experience. Closely related and progressive job experience may substitute for a portion of the educational requirements.
• A professional, approachable communication style when working with employees
• The ability to prioritize tasks and respond thoughtfully to security concerns
• Working knowledge of Windows, server systems, networking, and Microsoft Office
• The ability to monitor, assess, and respond to security alerts
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care
