Information Technology Intern (Co-Op)

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Aid in the design, development, and implementation of control systems for various projects.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop and test control algorithms and software.
• Participate in the troubleshooting and debugging of control systems.
• Support the integration of hardware and software components.
• Conduct research and analysis to improve existing control systems.
• Work with controls and automation equipment.
• Prepare technical documentation and reports.
• Attend a weekly departmental meeting.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning and review sessions.
• Perform any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of control systems, automation, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Education And/or Experience Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Physical Demands

• Daily tasks may include using hands to handle materials and equipment, reaching with hands and arms, and communicating verbally.
• Occasional tasks may require standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 20 pounds may be required.

Work Environment

• The work environment may involve occasional exposure to airborne particles and vibrations.
