About the role

Ahtna Logistics is looking for a qualified individual to provide analytical, advisory, technical expertise, and analysis of RQ-4 Communications Planning activities, including performing and managing a variety of communication and information technology tasks and activities.

Responsibilities

• Requires network administrative privileges to perform duties.
• Is required to maintain training and certification requirements in order to sustain elevated rights to the AREA52 domain.
• Performs communications-computer systems (C-CS) planning and implementation activities.
• Provides continued support to communications systems current and future planning activities.
• Supports implementation of C-CS projects and ensures C-CS architecture, configuration, and integration conformity.
• Provides analytical, technical, functional and management oversight to critical communications and systems network upgrades and maintenance for the RQ-4 weapon system.
• Provides analytical, advisory, and technical support to leadership as systems analyst and advisor to 69 RG/CD and 12 RS/CC.
• Facilitates 9 RW project management efforts directed and approved by either 9 RW, 69 RG and 12 RS to improve RQ-4 integration into USAF and National architectures, in particular, the AF Distributed Common Ground System (AF-DCGS) and the Department of Defense Global Information Grid (DoD-GIG).
• Provides C-CS laptop computer administration and support of up to 250 individual issued and loaner laptops to identified associated units and attached aircrew.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Be a US Citizen.
• Possess a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
• Possess a NATO Secret security clearance.
• Knowledge of Air Force C-CS technologies with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with a variety of the C-CS field’s concepts, practices and procedures, ground-based telecommunications systems, avionics and information system technology, management of program and project implementation actions, and Air Force planning documents and application of these documents to the C-CS systems.
• Minimum of four years’ experience with:
  • Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)
  • Ethernet
  • Local and wide area networks
  • UNIX and non-UNIX operating systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Working Environment

Work is generally performed in an office environment, may be subject to temperature and noise level changes. Occasional exposure to outdoor and flight line activities.

Physical Demands

• Employee generally works in an office environment where they are regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, use a computer, and perform basic office functions.
• Routinely communicates with other employees, customers, managers, and executives in person, at meetings, and using telephones, email, and other business communications software.
• Frequently uses hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms; talking, hearing and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the abilities to adjust focus).
• Occasional walking or standing; occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
• Occasionally works in industrial and outdoor environments where temporary exposure to extreme cold and heat, and dust is expected.
