Summary Of Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supporting all Security activities and programs for Urenco USA. Works in the area of Compliance. Interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the organization and externally with governmental agencies. Adheres to the foundational behaviors, company values and Urenco behaviors.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalency. 3 years of direct work experience in a regulatory security field (i.e. DOE, DOS, DOD, etc)
  • Prior experience working with Microsoft Active Directory and/or administering group policy access rights
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. 5 Years of direct work experience in the Cyber or Information field. Experience regulatory security field (i.e. DOE, DOS, DOD, etc).

Job Details

  • Work Location: Urenco USA, Eunice, NM
  • Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required
  • Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and Q level security clearance
  • Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
  • Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas.

Primary Functions

  • Supports the ISSM for the planning and implementation of UUSA’s security of information systems for classified network, including the support of operational work plans and ensuring compliance with NRC/DOD/DOE requirements.
  • Responsible for the development and maintaining a comprehensive cyber security program to safeguard UUSA’s data, systems and networks (classified and unclassified).
  • Implements and enforces security policies and procedures to ensure the protection of sensitive information and assets.
  • Maintains a record copy of the Access Authorization (A&A) package for each information system for which he/she is the ISSO.
  • Ensures that each user accesses only that data, control information, software, hardware, and firmware for which he or she has authorized access and a need to know and assumes only those roles and privileges for which he or she is authorized.
  • Ensures the implementation of cyber protection controls and procedures that are documented in, or referenced by, the system security plan for each information system for which he/she is the ISSO.
  • Ensures that all users have requisite security clearances, authorization, and need to know and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to the information system.
  • Ensures that each information system user acknowledges, in writing or electronically using DOE approved digital signature technologies, his/her responsibility (code of conduct) for the security of information systems and information.
  • Ensures that unauthorized personnel are not granted use of or access to the information system.
  • Provides written notification to the cognizant information owners prior to granting any foreign national access to the information system.
