About the role
The Space/Terrestrial Environmental Analysis and Resource Sustainment Branch within the USSF Space Systems Command at Colorado Springs Air Force Base, Colorado, is seeking an Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
Responsibilities
- Guiding several environmental monitoring systems through the federal security authorization process (RMF).
- Designing, securing, and authorizing non-traditional data transport methods from remote locations.
- Utilizing commercial ISPs, VPNs, and commercial satellite communications (like Starshield) to connect to DoD networks such as NIPR.
- Implementing and maintaining a comprehensive risk management framework (RMF) to achieve system authorizations.
- Using government cybersecurity compliance tools such as eMASS, XACTA, ACAS, STIGs, and other DoW compliance tools.
- Providing management with technical and cost analysis information through written documentation and oral briefings.
- Maintaining an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predicting future requirements.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret/CS security clearance.
- Must handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- Recruitment/Relocation incentive may be authorized.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) or Information System Security Officer (ISSO).
- Strong network engineering experience, including understanding of network architecture, routing, and data traversal in complex networks.
- In-depth knowledge of and hands-on experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to achieve system authorizations.
- Proven experience using government cybersecurity compliance tools such as eMASS, XACTA, ACAS, STIGs, and other DoW compliance tools.
- Ability to hold and maintain a Top Secret security clearance, including access to SIPRNet and JWICS.
