Information Systems Security Engineer

About the role

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our team supporting a Fort Meade, MD.

Responsibilities

• Support organization, system, or enclave IA programs
• Propose, coordinate, implement, and enforce security policies, standards, and methodologies
• Establish and maintain operational security posture
• Assist with information system security management and day-to-day security operations
• Provide configuration management (CM) as needed for security software, hardware, and firmware
• Manage system changes and assess security impacts
• Prepare and review System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages, and Security Test and Evaluation Matrices (SRTMs)
• Support security authorization activities in compliance with Government standards and the Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with ISSE/ISSO
• Knowledge of current security tools
• Experience with hardware/software security implementation
• Experience with encryption techniques and tools
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance

Physical requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (calculator, copy machine, printer); frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Qualifications

• Experience with Splunk (search and reporting)
• Experience building Splunk
