Information Systems Analyst
UC Davis Health IT Facilities/Implementations group participates in planning, budgeting and implementation activities which provide desktop, voice, software, and ancillary systems for the Health System’s construction, planning, and FIG projects across the health system.
About the role
As an Info Sys 2, you will function as an installation technician for the IT Implementations team. This role involves staging and installing various types of desktop, voice, and printing equipment for new construction, major/minor remodels, and relocations. You will install new equipment, test connections, remove old equipment, and ensure proper cleanup of work areas. This is a client-facing role requiring solid customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Drive to UCDH sites
- Troubleshoot existing equipment and remove or replace malfunctioning parts
- Install new versions of equipment
- Ensure cables are managed properly and out of the way
- Answer customer questions about the equipment
- Test connections to ensure they work properly
- Clean up work area, remove garbage, and relocate packaging materials to a dumpster
- Provide excellent customer service
- Complete desktop/printing staging and installations to ensure projects stay on schedule
- Comply with all construction site safety and legal requirements
- Assist in managing small to medium construction and FIG projects, including coordination with various teams, documentation, client equipment deployment, testing, validation, and support during go-live
- Work extra hours, evenings, or weekends as required by project schedules
- Oversee and participate in design, development, and overall FD&P, Planning, FIG, and IT Facilities project deployment and support

Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience/training
- Demonstrated ability to organize and handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize, and allocate resources to complete projects on schedule
- Proven analytical and organizational skills to assess, analyze, organize, and monitor project progress and risks
- Demonstrated experience providing technical triage and support for client devices such as computers, printers, and mobile devices
- Experience configuring and installing computers and printers
- Experience conducting technical assessments, preparing reports, and recommending solutions clearly and concisely
- Proven experience with sound and independent decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to take direction and feedback, and follow proper project documentation procedures during the project life cycle
- Proven experience working with IT equipment, including computers, printers, and monitors
- Ability to build professional, cohesive, and collaborative relationships with team members, customers, and project stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to understand and explain technical problems in non-technical terms
- Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy for interfacing with a wide range of administrators, faculty, staff, external vendors, and other university campuses
- Proven ability to work effectively in a complex environment with rapidly changing priorities, heavy workload, physical disruptions, and fluid authority
- Experience troubleshooting network-related issues
- Demonstrated ability to install software and troubleshoot moderately complex problems
- Basic knowledge of incident response procedures
- Knowledge of the design, development, and application of technology and systems to meet business needs
- Demonstrated skills in applying security controls to computer software and hardware
- Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions to improve or correct performance
- Experience troubleshooting and configuring wired and wireless communication equipment and related computer equipment, including application and operating systems software

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training
- One to three years of experience in an IT environment
- One to three years of experience in a healthcare or clinic environment
- Ability to handle irate customers with diplomacy and effectiveness
- Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain focus on tasks or issues
- Ability to express a helpful and positive attitude towards faculty, staff, and within IT
- Skill in establishing rapport and credibility to convey a professional, collaborative, and customer-oriented attitude
- Working experience supporting and interacting with a wide range of administrators, faculty, staff, external vendors, and other university campuses
- Experience creating and maintaining technical and support documentation
- Ability to work cohesively and quickly with other team members under pressure of deadlines and critical circumstances
- Knowledge and experience working with desktop inventory and Service Now
Pay
$33.33 - $59.48 per hour

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
