Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will serve as a key security and compliance partner for systems operating in regulated environments, with a strong focus on maintaining authorization, supporting continuous monitoring, and helping ensure adherence to federal requirements. The position will work closely with technical teams, auditors, and external assessment organizations to sustain secure operations and drive timely remediation of risks. It is well suited to a security professional who can balance hands-on risk management with structured compliance execution. The work will also contribute to incident response readiness and the overall resilience of the company's cloud-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the designated ISSO for authorized systems
- Maintain the organization's Authority to Operate (ATO) and support ongoing compliance activities
- Lead continuous monitoring activities and reporting requirements
- Coordinate annual assessments and independent audits with Third Party Assessment Organizations (3PAOs)
- Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses
- Manage POA&M deliverables for compliance with federal requirements
- Participate in security incident investigations and response efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent work experience considered
- 5+ years of information security, cybersecurity, or compliance experience
- 3+ years supporting FedRAMP, FISMA, or federal compliance programs
- Experience maintaining FedRAMP Moderate or High authorized environments
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Pay
$115,400 – $192,300 annually
