Information System Security Engineer (ISSE)
Responsibilities
- Design, implementation, and verification of secure IT infrastructure.
- Participation in planning, development, and deployment of IT systems.
- Provide advisory support to the ISSM on ATO extensions and BoE review.
- Perform high level architecture/security engineering responsibility.
- Ensure automated information system (AIS) and network nodes are operated, maintained, and monitored.
- Analyze, design, and implement technical security controls for complex information systems in accordance with RMF, NIST, and DoD requirements.
- Configure, deploy, and validate security tools and technologies to monitor, detect, and protect against cyber threats.
- Support the development, documentation, and maintenance of assessment and authorization (A&A) packages, including system security plans (SSPs), plans of action and milestones (POA&Ms), and supporting artifacts.
- Conduct security impact analyses for system changes and recommend appropriate security engineering solutions.
- Participate in incident tracking and remediation activities; support root-cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 11-12 years of related work experience.
- T/S/SCI clearance required.
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
- Must meet DoD 8140 qualification requirements for the Systems Security Analyst work role, designated as work role code 461 at the Advanced proficiency level.
Pay
Pay Transparency Statement: AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $159,600.00/Yr. - USD $266,500.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
